Takom Bringing New M51

Robin beat me to it - but yeah - that really would have been nice (and I don’t usually build recovery vehicles!)

Wasn’t there one in resin from somewhere?

I knew I’s seen one somewhere; very impressive I’m sure, but not for me, even if injected. It’ll probably happen one day.

Would love to have one in plastic for sure.

Oh dear lord… Ryefield why, how
Objectively humorous misnaming aside, very excited to see Ryefield tackling Israeli armor! Hope this is just the start!
I’d love to see a Merkava from them, or a Sho’t!

Few people know that the Israeli’s welded Field Kitchens to the back of their Sherman tanks to increase meal delivery efficiency. The only thing that surprises me is that Rye Field beat MiniArt to the Supper Sherman. Maybe it will be a collaboration.

(That was a joke. Or was it?)

Oh yes it is quite well known we used to fry up schnitzel and cook rice on the engine decks right before going to engage the Syrians!

Yeah! Maybe Takom and MiniArt can team up to bring us the Schnitzel Tiger!

Never heard of this type of Sherman. Is it anything like a Breakfast or Lunch Sherman?

I think it is more substantial than those two.
The British had a heavily uparmoured version,

We made a great cooking station from a cracked wheel road wheel return by roller whatever it’s called in English :joy: of a M107 putting it on rocked we piled up and using the ammo pallets for fuel the wheel center was great for holding the frying pan or kettle for coffee.in Lebanon in 1982. Our cooks didn’t come up till 1983

Not a million miles away from Brit soldiers on exercise having Baileys* on their corn flakes for breakfast instead of milk. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

Goes down smooth as silk.
I was once served chilled (+4 Centigrade) Baileys mixed with 96% alcohol.
The alcohol content of that cocktail must have been over 50%
Cold, smooth as silk, instant walking disability, brain was clear but legs had

Historically of course, alcohol has always been part of the Army and the Navy: soldiers had their gin, the Navy had their rum (mainly because water was so bad I suspect), but with that lot coursing through their veins on a daily basis, no wonder we were always scrapping, and ended up with an empire(!)

There is a specious quote about “Waterloo being won on the playing fields of Eton”. I would maintain it was ensured by the distilleries of Britain.
