I noticed a gap of the PE rings around the roadwheels.
I use Vallejo putty.
This photo was used to show the two styles of taillights and not sag.
I’m tacking this thread. I picked up the same kit And I will follow your build along for ideas.
Thanks, I think it’s a nice build with some additions.
Tools have been added using mostly Dragon’s from the spare parts box.
I’ve learned that removing the 3D parts are extremely difficult as the parts are fragile. The supports underneath the part seems to be stronger than the part it’s self.
Did you mean to put the axe where the shovel goes in the last kit pic?
I don’t understand.
The axe goes on the bottom. The shovel won’t be in its holder.
Dan, your Pz I is looking good!
Taking care of the wheels A+++
Thanks, takom could have made them a hair bigger, but it worked out.
Oh, I see it. The angle of the shot made it look like the axe was in the shovel’s spot.
It’s a silly complex design to me
Hey, it’s German, of course it’s a silly complex design.
In David Palmer’s novel Emergence, there is a bit where the owner of a VW dealership satirizes WWII German technical overkill by posting a bogus technical bulletin on the service department bulletin board ahead of the scheduled visit of the VW zone representative:
TO: All Noncommissioned Officers and below.
FROM: Blitzkrieg High Command Quality Control Center.
SUBJECT: Hand-Grenade Repair Bulletin Follow-up.
MESSAGE: In a previous bulletin, ZVP-111000WUB-827-D, it was reported that certain hand grenades manufactured by subcontractor Sturm Drang between 3 June 1943 and 8 October 1943, bearing Serial Numbers 87A000-112498BZQ148 through 87A000-112498BZS157 in one-millimeter-high characters on the inside of the release lever, have detonated in 4.91465 seconds instead of the specified 4.97771 seconds. This variation exceeded manufacturing tolerances.
Bulletin ZVP-111000WUB-827-D described how to correct this defect. However, it has been learned that this bulletin contains a typographical error. If Step 3 is followed as written, hand grenades so modified will detonate in .07331 seconds and could pose a hazard to the user.
All copies of bulletin ZVP-111000WUB-827-D must be corrected as follows: In Step 3, the word “left” in the third line should be deleted and the word “right” inserted. If the corrected instructions are followed properly, the hand grenades will perform satisfactorily.
However, if any hand grenades are observed to detonate in .07331 seconds, even after being correctly modified, safety pins and release levers of such hand grenades must be returned to Blitzkrieg Warranty Center. Upon receipt of safety pins and release levers, together with Quality Control Follow-up Report Forms filled out correctly, credit will be issued. Credit will not be issued if forms are filled out incorrectly.
The novel continues that the VW zone representative, who was German-born and -raised ex-Wehrmacht infantry, was reportedly unamused.
Reminds me of a very true story from the early 2000’s when a coworker friend finally had to take her Porsche 928 S4 (whatever the four valve version is called) into the local Porsche dealership. None of the independent shops could find the source of the problem.
Exasperated she described the problems in detail etc.
The service manager Wolfgang was from Germany and promptly told her, “Man made ze kar and man vill fix ze car.”
15 minutes later Wolfgang told her the problem was a bad diaphragm in the brake booster. $250 for diagnostics and $750 to replace.
She paid diagnostics, said thank you and had someone else swap the booster for $100.
Anyway, that 928S4 was pretty spectacular quality wise in that it was a complex car but was daily driver for many years.
