Well, this Academy-pig is done as far as I am concerned and I am not not pleased with it. This kit is a bit of a pig, really. Fit in places is poor (the top mainly), detail in many places likewise. The AK was come off easily when handled. No strong bonding between paint and plastic. I normally do not use a primer, but perhaps should have on this one. The Academy decals absorbed the grey oilbased wash, which is very visible with the large MP-decals on the sides.

I added: tactical tape to the front light, a homemade camouflage net, made out of medical gauze, oregano and railwayscenery granulate. The tiedown strap is maskingtape (paper becomes soft, when painted!) and the mud is a mix of paint, varnish, grass and railway dirt.

The last of the piggies is now done too.

I added all the gear, incl. backpacks and weapons on the seats, added a dark wash around the lower part and a neutral one on the top. Then I added pigments, a new brand, and these reacted with the washes (?)

Ron what new brand of pigment did you use? I always thought pigments were neutral. Maybe the wash wasn’t dry yet?

It is a brand I bought last year at a supermarket.
