Guys, I’m just overwhelmed at the response that I’ve been receiving on my final update, that I’m actually having trouble keeping up with all of them. I usually reply to each post separately as a thank you, but I’ve long run out of things to say that’s just not a repeat of a repeat. So please forgive me for not mentioning or replying to all the individual posts.
D,
I’m really looking forward to the Buddy Build as it’s a 1st for me, and gives us a chance to spend more time together as we plan on meeting a few times per month to go over progress and planned progress. Peter, whose also an exceptional photographer will be taking all of the pics with both builds in it.
Richard,
I’ve been working hard on Pete to sign up for AutoModeler even if it’s just one build per year, but also to sign up for Aeroscale as he’s only a member of one site that I know of. But most of his computer time involves photography as he long ago passed me in photographic skills.
I really do admire your work Joel. I only hope that I’m able to build this well when I’m in my 70’s. Hats off to you on a great job with this build and I’ll keeping you close in thought and prayers brother.
Joseph,
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest and greatest F1 build . Tamiya/Ebbro really makes building these rather complicated race cars a lot easier then some of the other manufactures.
F1 over the years with ESPN broadcasting all the races has taken over my #1 spot in both following and building as Indy Car kits just don’t exist other then the old AMT, Revell, and Monogram kits. Plus many of these kits from the old days bring back some great memories for me.
I’m fairly new to this forum, although not new to scale modelling. I have mostly built aircraft and AFV’s in the past, but have recently become attracted to Vehicle modelling, probably as a result of one of my grandchildren asking me to build her a 1/32 Chevrolet Impala, which I am enjoying! I saw your thread here this morning and have just spent a pleasant hour or so catching up, and being very impressed, as well as inspired by your work. I have recently acquired a couple of 1/24 car kits to build, and definitely intend to model a 1/20 F1 at some stage. I will still make my aircraft and AFV’s, but now I think vehicles have entered my like! Thanks again for the inspiration your build has given.
Great to have you on the AutoModeler team Terry, I hope you post up some progress on your builds and I’m sure you will learn a lot about car modelling from the crew here.
Terry,
Welcome to our little corner of the Kit Maker forums. One thing for sure is that you’re going to really like it here, as the Auto guys are super friendly, and will help whenever they can to answer any of your questions or run a idea past us.
And thanks for your so kind words on my 1/20 scale Lotus type 79. It’s much appreciated I can assure you.
I know I’m really late to the show on this one, but this work is fantastic! I’m currently getting back into the hobby after a couple of decades off and seeing results like this really help. I’m starting back with a 1/20 Ferrari 189/641 early version.
