Tamiya 1/350 Kagero build

Hi all - Starting a new build and posting an abbreviated blog . I neglected to take early photos because of the difficulty in posting pictures now . I can now post by copying/pasting so here goes. I’ll be using Infini Models comprehensive PE set and Kagero Publishing’s 3D drawings book.

Hull in primer..

various bits in IJN grey and bridge in primer .

Still having difficulty posting photos. Half the pictures I have taken for this blog will not post . I am showing my ignorance of computer technology but whatever changes have been made to this site have screwed up my ability to blog .

With a lot of effort I was able to load these which were meant to be in the original post .

Merry Christmas to all !

A little progress on Kagero. Along with what you see here the AA batteries and masts are done but will be installed last due to their fragile nature. All that remains are screws , rudder, railings and ship’s boats .

Thanks for looking !

Nice. And that looks like some rapid progress!

Calling this one done . Tamiya kit that went together as their kits do - just shake the box a little and presto - Infinity photo etch adds much detail but in truth some of it was beyond my willingness to do .

I have a philosophy now regarding adding detail. If I can improve the kit it’s great but beyond whatever detail it adds , if I can’t install it cleanly it doesn’t add to the model . In example, this photo etch set included the brass strips that were inserted over the linoleum deck. Beautifully detailed but I couldn’t install them neatly and parallel so they became a detractors from the overall appearance. Blobs of CA here and there added to the mess so I abandoned them and repainted the deck.

I don’t know why I can no longer post the pics directly from my library- I must copy and paste , hence the shading around fine details.

Thanks for looking - RT .
