Tamiya French Light Tank H39

Tamiya H39 - built OOTB with a few refinements. Cast texture added to hull and turret, wire handles on engine deck, chains on front towing pintles and a value gear tarp on the rear trench tail. Finished in recommended Tamiya colors and weathered in oils & pigments. Figure painted with AK & Citadel contrast paints.

Excellent work. Those tracks in particular look quite good.

Ted that’s very nicely done! Painting and texture are just great and the weathering is spot on! The chain is laid out right and looks perfect whilst the tracks are excellent! I also really like the leather coat on the figure. Great texture, creases and weathering. Great job all round mate!

You have done a magnificent job all around. Something for me to aim for.

Thank you. The figure was probably my favorite part of the build. It was the first time I painted an entire figure with contrast (quick gen) paints. I did use the Tamiya weather pastes for highlights - the rust one worked well for the leather coat.

A lovely little tank. I always like those vehicles from the interbellum…

Great work! Did you thin out the quick gen and glaze it on your amazing figure?

I used Vallejo Glaze and a drop or 2 of water on some Citadel colors that were a bit thicker. The AK Quick Gens used were mostly for flesh tones and required no thinning.
