I don’t know who to thank first so I’ll say it to everyone, Thank you all !
You guys understand this so here goes, my first attempt at weathering on the MRAP included 30 year old techniques and sucked. So I sat down and watched all of the videos that were produced by Nightshift, Small Soldier, beiberhunter etc., bought all the new products pigments, acrylic paint retarders etc. and started the learning process again.
I did find out using acrylics is way easier than my usual oil paints,I also learned how to use a wet palette and glazes !!.
Focusing on the pioneer tools and knapsacks now, I’ve always used oils but it was all acrylics this time .
Man thats great. Love the shovel.
Some serious effort you put into that and it shows.
How’d long did it take for you to get comfortable with the acrylic washes. They are definitely quicker.
Thank you and sorry I t took so long for a reply, I get lost in my builds usually.
Still learning to use glazes and acrylics but so far really liking how they work! I’ll get some pictures of just the jeep by itself.

Yeah, the shovel is outstanding, and those knapsacks have a nice bleached out look.
WOW Steve, this is just stunning work. Exceptional model.
The finished diorama looks excellent.
Cheers,
