Going to start a Tamiya Jeep vignette featuring one figure and this is all I have completed so far except for some of the basic bodywork on the Jeep itself.
Figure is Alpine painted with acrylics, his eyes were not completed in second picture.
Great looking figure.
Steve that figure looks excellent. You got the uniform looking great with nice shadows and highlights. Face looks great with the 5 o’clock shadow. Can’t wait to see the Jeep!
Indeed. Not familiar with that one
This isn’t going to be a super detailed version of the old Jeep nor is it going to be built as a specific place and time during the war but as an exercise in the fundamentals. My background is building automobiles and spacecraft that are rarely weathered and this is where I have to hone my skills.
Thanks all for taking the time to look and post and be part of this exercise in building an old worn Jeep .
metalhead85 thanks !
Steve! Good to see you back to military vehicles. It’s been a while. If you use that whole Aber set (I dare you!) it sure will be a super detailed version of the old jeep! Outstanding figure. Love the fleshtones. (The Fleshtones - weren’t they an 80’s new wave band?) Looking forward to seeing what you do for the classic jeep.
The figure looks great. The Tamiya Jeep is very nice. You should like it and I’m sure it will be great too.
SSGToms thanks and NO I’am not going to let you coerce me into having my head explode by using all those tiny parts , remember this is an exercise in weathering and not superdetailing so stop egging me on
and I don’t remember the 80’s lol
HeavyArty thanks and I look forward to this old classic once again.

Nice work! You’ve omitted painting the attachment flaps for the seatback cushions. See here. An easy touch up
Thanks eric,
Sorry I haven’t taken many in progress pictures of the build because I wasn’t sure at one point I would continue with it because of how it was turning out.
Still a long ways to go .
Steve, you were going to ditch this model on the shelf of shame? What’s not to like? You did a nice tight build, used most of the Aber PE set [major congratulations, my man] for some outrageous detailing, the paintwork is beautiful, and the shadows, highlights, and weathering make it pop nicely. I can’t find anything wrong with it. I’d say you’ve got a phenomenal build going here. Remember, it’s just a Jeep, there’s only so much you can do to it before it’s just done.
Looks excellent to me Steve. Loads of small details and nice weathering job.
That is a really nice job. Excellent!
Looks great! Keep going
