Does anyone have dimensions and good quality images of the TIP commonly seen on Shermans and Pershings?
I know they exist in various 1/35 kits and resin accessory sets but when it’s a straightforward scratchbuilding task to reproduce it, it seems silly to spend money on something I can do myself.

I know that the earliest ons in WWII were field improvised, using GI field phones in machine gun ammo cans attached to the hull rear and wired into the tank’s intercom system.

In case you need one in 1/35, Italeri includes this set up, with the hand set, on their M47 Patton kit. It could use a cord, but the basics are there.

Frenchy - the M24 photos are even more appropriate since I need the box for a ‘Bison’.

Stikpusher - good call on the Italeri M47. Despite it’s age it’s still an outstanding kit. I’ll dig around in my stash and see if I still have one in stock but with the information provided here, I’m confident I can scratch the box (and get more satisfaction from the project).
The hive mind on Armorama is probably the best one in the armour modelling fraternity.

I want to say that the Dragon M26A1 and M46 kits also offer the phone box as an option, depending on which timeframe variant that you build.
