When a Christie tank had it´s track removed and driving on wheels, how they steered the vehicle?

The front set of wheels were steerable.
They had standard laterals to control steering with the tracks on. For no track driving, an on-board steering wheel was and attached to steer the front two wheels.

Steerable front wheels leads me to the next logical question, how were the drive wheels powered when not on drive sprocket to the tracks?
