Two figures from Pegaso, still a work in progress.
But overall, the idea and the setting are clear.

An epic clash in miniature form! The sculpts are wonderful- such movement and aggression conveyed in the poses and you’ve brought out the facial features to convey the desperate fight. Such awesome colors too- the bright blues versus the dark black and gold. Did you hand-paint the symbols on the cape/jacket of the warrior in blue?
Outstanding painting Jan, so many details , a great scene !
Everything on the figures is freehand painted. Except for the knots on the armor, these are in relief on the figure.
Spectacular paintwork!
Wow Jan- incredible! Those patterns are painted with such fidelity- particularly the way they have been highlighted and shadowed to follow the creases and folds.
Holy c@)p I think this might be your most complex painting so far. Great work! ![]()
Extraordinary. Awesome.
How do you paint those Fine lines? How do you do any of those designs that you painted? What size brush do you use? Do you put a wetting agent in your acrylics?
These figures of yours are the type of models that inspire.
mostly using a liner from AK 0/1,the brushes I feel the most comfortable with.
I use brushes with long bristles for most of the painting I do. thy can take enough paint with to work comfertable.
The short ones are a personal choice, But you’re spending more time struggling to transport enough paint than actually working on the design. (personal experience)
Starting with a base colour on the subject, depending on the designs i am gona draw already with high lights and shadows. Or just basic color for these figures, because the design will cover the complete area.
the pattern i draw with a pencil, don’t think it’s work at the first time. Afterwards, it’s been working out with acrylic.
I usually draw a pattern of squares on the area to make sure the design is evenly spread across it.
I don’t , just using a wetpallet, for some of the lines i am using acrylic inkts.
For the next figure, I’ll try to take some photos.
Absolutely beautiful! Requires a lot of patience many people might not have,
thank you for sharing your techniques, especially about the brushwork. ![]()
