Not every painting step our colour choice is a success, but always a good practice. Gonna tray to complete the muster as a exercise, afterwards decide to start over a new attempt

Like al painters, when it’s not turning out the way you have it in mind.
It’s looking not bad, but not the satisfied with the colour of the jacket

started a new attempt on the jacket, building up on the things I already have tried out on other projects.

I don’t know how you couldn’t be happy with that jacket- it is stunning. Now perhaps you were not happy with the original purple color but adding that gold detailing has just turned it into a piece of outstanding work! Just the kind of gaudy item you would expect a pirate captain to wear, all gold and bright colors.

I get that, the artist is their own worst critic as they know what they wanted it to look like and judge if it meets that expectation.

I thought the purple was a good choice as I recall it was the color of royalty given the cost to make the material. Something a pirate would want to flaunt.
The gold design especially through the folds look great.

Leaving my bench waiting for a decant display. My version of Blackbeard, young miniatures, scale 1/10 painted in acrylics.

Hope you like it a bit.
