The reposing and sculpted detail is really looking good.
Hah, yup I hear that!
@FirstCircle What type putty are you working with now? Looks smoother than what you were working with on the Traffic Warden.
Hi, it’s Magic Sculpt, so effectively the same, but a brand new tub. The one I was using on the traffic warden was old and had started to grown crystals and other lumpy bits.
I need to look into getting a tub of my own. I need that slower cure time to work out the mistakes I always make.
Those rubber tipped brushes are very useful for shaping and smoothing the putty.
They are looking great Matthew. You’re doing the same great work as you did with the traffic warden. Looking forward to the finished figures. ![]()
A fair bit of adjustment to our lady from The Wargame - the body has been moved forwards on the hips and tilted over further to look more off balance. The legs have been moved closer together, which I realised was necessary when test fitting a Post-It note skirt.
Having got all that sorted I started building up the join between the upper and lower body to get a shape that a skirt can be added on top of.
The guys at the fence are basically finished, and are now waiting for her to catch up so I can prime them all together. After spending time looking at other hands, none of which were as good, I had a “proper” search for the tall guy’s missing hand and found it under the guitar amp ![]()
Looking great as always Matthew. You do nice work. ![]()
Not wanting to highjack the thread (no pun intended) but it looks like they’re going to do a series adaptation of the film.
Yes, my daughter’s BF sent me that story earlier this evening. Sounds good. I like a bit of a grim tale…
A bit of an update on The War Game woman. She now has a skirt on, which needs thinning down and some creases adding. I also just added the arms, so lots of putty work to do on the upper torso.
I’ve also made the fireman’s helmet to lie on the ground in front of her. I used an Afrika Korps sun helmet from the Italeri Kubelwagen kit I bought almost 50 years ago as the base, extending the rear brim and building up with putty to resemble a 1960s Kent Fire Brigade helmet.
That linked to another relevant article: the Traffic Warden was a Traffic Warden…

Cheers,

Brilliant, thanks for that. Recognisably him.
The War Games woman… after studying the main photo I decided it looked like the sleeves of her top may be either pulled up a little or ¾ length, so I chopped the sleeved forearms and swapped in the bare forearms and hands from the zombie police woman.
To angle of the hands was altered slightly by just bending the wrists with pliers.
Then spent ages trying to get the head angle…
… and then adjusted the arm angle again by cutting and gluing in wedges, propping with blutack while it sets.
Built up her top clothing, cuffs on the sleeves and made the hem stand out a little.
Several sessions building up the hair; frustrating only having a single photo reference, but eventually thought it looked better a bit less symmetrical.
Seems like it’s basically there, now to prime to show up the overly messy bits.
I had a look for other images of this actress, and she does seem to appear a couple of times. It is quite impressive, powerful, and disturbing, the way she is tumbling, especially dressed like that…
Impressive work Matthew- instructive and fascinating to see your wip photos too. I like the way you have sculpted the clothing- the fabric is nice and thin and the creases and folds follow the pose accurately. Same goes for the hair!
I concur, excellent work Matthew. ![]()
That hair is fabulous! Seriously well done.
Any updates on your project Matthew? ![]()
