Sounds like another edition to the stash list.

Thunder are doing some really nice looking LRDG vehicles.
Must give one a try sometime.
Any news on the version mounting the Bofors A/T gun in the back?

If you are talking about the 37mm Bofors, that kit has already been released by Thunder.

That’s the one. Haven’t seen one anywhere yet, which is I why I wondered if it was still to be released.

I’ve had my eye on one on eBay for a while. (with Bofors) No shipping - not a bad deal.

I received mine direct from Libor/LZ/Thunder over a month ago, and it is on LZ’s website for order, as well as Hobbyeasy and I’m sure others.

Prefer to buy from my LHS when I can. Avoid HM customs holding parcels ransom and he gets the profit.
They get Thunder as and when they arrive in the UK, that seems to be the holdup.

I order mine direct from Libor as well. Better deal all around and cuts you a break on postage most of the time.

So how is the kit? Have you started it yet?
I’m interested in it purely because of the subject matter - not particulrly a fan of the company so far.
I built their Indian - lots of minor inaccuracies. More vexing was the lack of detail. I made the mistake of getting it (them) based on a review on Missing-Lynx.
I’m glad this truck has been developed in partnership with the LRDG Preservation Society, but that really doesn’t mean much in the end. Remember - the old Monogram kits were “Made from actual blueprints!”
So I ask again - is the detail is any better on one of these larger kits, or are we just being wooed by CAD images again? It’ll probably still remain on my list, but I’d be curious to know,

Perhaps you could join the Thunder LRDG kits group at the FB to get some honest feedback to your matter, this link: Redirecting...

Who is Libor, LZ and where are they posting from? I’ve never come across those online stores before.

LZ is LZ Models (lzmodels.com). Libor is the owner of LZ (see his post directly above yours), as well as Mirror Models, and is also behind Thunder Models in some capacity. Him and his team do the design work. He releases all the resin, PE and now 3D printed updates, accessories and figures for the Thunder kits under the LZ brand.
You can order all the Thunder, Mirror and LZ kits from his website. And typically, once you order something, he will put you on the mail list so that you can pre-order the next kit release, typically at a reduced cost and/or reduced shipping rate. I believe they typically ship pre-orders from Ireland, since that is where LZ is based.

The detail is there…very much so on all the Mirror, Thunder, and LZ kits. Dive in again…

Ah, thanks. Tempting, but if it’s coming from abroad I’ll get stung with vat charges and Royal Mails handling fees (which I think is now about £12 per parcel). I had hoped they might be UK based.
I’ll hang on till my LHS gets one. I want to have a good look at what’s in the box first as I’ve never done one of theirs yet.
Thanks
