Hi I am building the Tamiya 1/35 Tiger 1 and I was wondering if anyone knew why they have 2 different sizes of tow cables ? I can understand the thick ones would be used to recover the Tiger but it also carries a thinner cable and I can’t think of a reason why, can anyone enlighten me ? Thanks
The small cable is for changing the track, not a tow cable. It was attached to the track and drive sprocket and the sprocket acted as a capstan/winch to pull the track on. This was particularly necessary for the Tiger since they had transport tracks as well as regular tracks, so track changes occurred regularly.
