800 pages? A masters thesis usually isn’t even that long.
Didn’t it have it’s origins in the British Dennison smock ( SAS, and Paratrooper). Then the French took it and mutated it, then someone else continued the mutations until it ended up in South Vietnam.
Can’t say I’ve read any to know, a lot of it appears to be photos
