Tiptoe through the tulips - F-84 Korean War

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if anyone knows what the modified jeeps (at 25:00 mark) might be for? Gun loading? Radar calibration of some sort? Also, do you think the C-46 at the end was spraying for mosquito control or something? thanks again for sharing it.

Here are a few vidcaps of these jeeps (2 versions)

Whatever the task, it looks like it requires some power from the jeep engine

It also calls for a cross with yellow marks on it

Talking about the C-46, I guess you’re right about mosquito control

Just came across this one on Facebook

Modified 2 Squadron SAAF Ground Servicing Equipment Jeep used by the Squadron Technicians to carry out minor repairs and servicing to aircraft on the flight line.

This may have to do with the AN/APG-30 radar gunsight fitted to the F-84E version.
Here’s a French AF jeep that looks quite similar. According to the caption it is used as a test bed for the radar gunsight of the Dassault Super Mystère B2
