Designed a 1/35 scale M172 trailer that can also be build as the M172A1 version.
Its going to be a +50 part resin kit.
Soon to be ordered at the 3D-wild.com shop.
From what I could find online all these trucks can tow the M172/A1 Trailers:
5-Ton 6x6 Tractor trucks: M52, M818, M931
10-Ton 6x6 Tractor Trucks: M123, M920
also Modern logistics Trucks: CCT / Oshkosh variants: HEMTT M983 series, FMTV M1088 LTAS CAB Tractor and maybe more.
If they are on the market as plastic or resin kits at least.
So for whom ever needs it, here you go.

Excellent work. My first unit had many of these trailers to transport our Heavy Junk (Bucket Loaders and the like) with M916s as the prime mover. Your post stirred memories.
Question - we had another trailer, the M796 Bolster Trailer, that every squad pulled with the M817 Dump Truck. We used it to carry all sorts of engineer equipment (barrier materiel, bridging components, etc.). I have never seen one in model kit - is this something you would like to take on as a future design for kit production? TIA.

If I can find the Technical Manual or Technical drawings I can design it.
Otherwise I’m going to eyeball it and that take much longer to design.

The bolster trailer was originally designed as a telephone pole carrier with a telescoping neck to carry long poles, and have a shorter profile otherwise. The wire mesh surface included a trap door to access storage and plumbing under the deck. It was a versatile trailer.

Ok, I’m currently this far, still need to add some details. The picture is showing the extended version.
The trailer is going to have the same tires that I see on most pictures, no objections I presume.
Is there need for cargo? If so what do you guys prefer?

Does you reference include the vertical stanchions that are inserted along the sides of the frame to restrain cargo?
I have the planned cargo for my build - it’ll be hauling M2 Bailey bridge transoms and stringers, and pulled by an M817 Dump truck with other bridge components loaded in the back (panel sections, etc…)
