I built the Trumpeter KET-T model, which is based on their MAZ-537. It is an excellent model with exceptional engineering and fit. It builds up nicely with no problems and I got a great model out of it. I added PE and resin wheels to mine. Recommended.
All the Trumpeter MAZ kits have the same problem.
This photo I couldn’t show in my first post as the 5 photos
What are the problems you have identified?
I have outlined the area that needs attention and some photos that can be used to help and provide the details Trumpeter left out.
We have a German version of you, and an American version of you. We had a Polish version. Perhaps we need a Russian version of you…
What is the MBT tank transporter being used by Ukraine forces? Something other than the MAZ-537G? Would the MAZ-537G be capable of transporting T-64 or T-80?
A serie of videos on the MAZ by one of french modeller who wrotes for Steelmasters magazin and books for AK.
I have built the kit (currently it is waiting for paint). It builds up fine into a Soviet Cold War tank transporter. The dimensions are good. The finer detail is undewhelming, as noted, but it does not detract from the build if you are not concerned about detail level (I mean, really, its not like it is a DML SCUD-B kit…). It is probably best described as a basic base with potential to detail out to whatever degree you like.
I am happy with mine enough that I have several more of the kits to build. And, it is not like there is a better option out there.
