Last modern Russian themed build for now.
The lower hull is as you would expect all T-72.
Upper hull fitted despite Trumpeter instructing you to put it on once all the superstructure is built up.
Dry fit test.
In keeping with “there is no one Russian Green” I used Tamiya XF-65 Field Grey. What do you think?
The turret and all the bang bang bits added.
Primed with Mr Surfacer 1500.
Pre-shading.
More Green errr Grey.
Sealed with VMS Matte varnish and left to cure for a day.
Oil dots applied.
Army of “Z” etc added freehand.

I think you have nailed the green. Superb and nice amount of different tones on panels. Finish is excellent.

@Catsrcool i like the field grey on the lower hull. I’m going to have to give that a try on my next modern Russian build, thanks for the idea!

Excellent looking build- your work with the oils really paid off as the green looks very realistic.

Looks like you made quick work of this kit! And it turned out excellent! The idea to use Tamiya Field Gray for Russian Green really worked out well.

Wow that preshading looks amazing! Did you use a stencil or something to get the “blobs” so random?
Thanks.
