Hello chaps,
I’ve just started building this and thought it might be of interest to some of you.
The detail on it is quite nice, here’s the plastic 
Not forgetting the clear parts.
Three schemes to choose from, I like the look of “white 5” which I believe was the aircraft flown by the prominent Soviet ace Alexander Pokryshkin of the 55th IAP during the summer of 1941.
I have also got the Eduard PE set and paint masks.
So far I’ve removed all the parts from the runners and cleaned up any seams etc.
The cockpit looks nicely detailed out of the box but should look even better with the PE added.

I finally have a bit of progress to report
Despite my lack of updates I have been labouring away with it.
Firstly was getting the cockpit sorted and painted up.
Some PE to add too which slowed it down a bit.
Paint colours where a bit of a puzzle as different colours were used at different times and also depending what material was used as it’s a mixed wood/metal construction.
In the end I settled on what you can see in the picture.
Here are the cockpit components after a bit of weathering.
These were then joined together before being sandwiched between the two fuselage halves.
Apologies the pictures aren’t the best 
The rest of it has been built up, wings and horizontal stabilisers added and the nose area built up.
It all went together with no particular problems and here’s how it’s looking.
Just the flaps to add and a bit of a clean up then it will be ready for priming
