I used what I had.

I do not know where I got the idea from to get this build done during Christmas holiday… Paiting it takes forever. I am currently painting stowage and the BDU camo is a bi**h to get right. I guess Im 3/4 done or so, and that is just the backpacks. However, I am enjoying it even though it goes slowly.

Coming along nicely Erik.

Who makes the resin ruck sacks with the sleeping mats on them?

Coming along nicely. It’s not really easy to estimate how much time is needed to build a model.

It is coming along great. The paint looks perfect.

A pointer on the jerrycans. The one below with the red arrow looks like a plastic fuel can (three handle) and is usually a field drab / brownish color. If it has a single handle, it is a water jug and is fine black, or can be sand. The ones with blue arrows are metal fuel cans and were usually dark green / NATO green. They are not usually repainted.

Plastic water jug.

Sand and black are the most common. Early ones ('70s) came in green too. I have never seen the light blue ones, maybe for UN missions?

Metal fuel can.

Pretty much all metal fuel cans were gone in the US Army by 2003. I assume they were gone in the USMC as well. I’m sure there were some still out there though, so no issues.

I can second that I joined in 2001 and have never seen a metal one.
