@TopSmith @SenorOuiOui for more inspirational reading look up Philip D Chinnery’s books ‘Helicopters of the vietnam war’ and “Life on the Line” as well as Matt Brennan’s book “Hunter Killer Squadron” which feature stories about pilot who flew with the 1st of the Nineth Air Cav, which is Colonel Kilgore’s unit.
pay particular attention to the names Bill Frazer, Larry Brown and Randy R Zahn, their stories will have the hair on the back of your head stand on end!
How fortuitous. (Scroll down a bit)
So i took down my uh-1d from my shelf and relized i used testors tube glue. Its a mess.
So I am probably going to buy a new one maybe from dragon since it has a lot more detail than the revell kit.
Hey, the Hueys used in the movie belonged to the Philippines Air Force and were being repainted often because there were in service. On the stills you can even see that the “Death from above” has even different lettering on the nose art in various scenes. As for the decal set mentioned above I would say it’s incomplete, cause it lacks the lettering for the pilot (A/C CWO R.J OLSEN) and the Air Cavalry badge on the door is missing AIRMOBILE (in black lettering) on top of it which can be seen in some scenes. And of course there is the issue of the tail number, but what I worked out from the still it might be 21730. Hope this might be helpful.
Yes, thank you very much it it helpful i didnt even know that
