Not “a” video, but many videos. I think it is about 80% due to a lack of vision and 20% due to thinking they are dummies, thinking that they can fit between the mines, and not knowing what an anti-tank mine looks like.
Dummy minefields are an accepted tactic because they work, especially if they are salted with just a few AT mines that are boobytrapped and mixed with APERS mines.
Minefields are obstacles, not weapons. They are to delay, attrit, and canalize attacking forces, not wipe them out. Ukrainian mine warfare is clearly canalizing Russian attacks as you can see columns running in the ruts of the plows and rollers leading the assault. If the AFU had been supplied properly they could exploit this by raining artillery down on the choke points and attacking with ATGMs. However, if the attacking forces do not care about losses (Who in Moscow or St. Petersburg is gonna miss 10,000 Buryats, Yakuts, or Dagestanis? Nobody, that’s who.) they lose their effectiveness.

I do wonder how many more tanks Russia owns (can be turned into scrap in Ukraine) before they run out of tanks. I saw one video where assorted ex-civilian pickups and cars (Turtle Cars??) with netting cages were being loaded onto railroad wagons.
The use of North Koreans makes me think that Russia is approaching a shortage of fresh bodies for the meat grinder …

From the Ukrainian side, mercenaries from many countries were used from the very beginning. And you did not have any thoughts on this topic.
The fact that the enlistment bonuses have been steadily increasing for the last two years, particularly in the eastern Federal Subjects is proof that it is getting harder and harder to make up the 1,000 casualties per day that the Moskals need to stay even. It’s just a matter of economics; supply and demand.
The thing is, the local and federal governments don’t actually pay out most of the bonuses (or salaries) either through trickery (“Your son wasn’t killed, he’s missing.”), incompetence (“The military Commissariat transferred his papers to his unit; we don’t have them any more.”) or the usual corruption and theft (“The last message I got from my husband said his commander had taken is payment card. I just checked the account and there’s no money there.”), so it’s having a smaller effect on the Federal budget than one might expect . . .

I’ll tell you more. The Ukrainian resources from which you draw information embellish everything. Not 1000 people a day, but 10 times more. Agricultural fields are reduced, taking land for cemeteries. Not only do they not give what is due, but widows are deprived of property, and children are sent to militarized orphanages.
Dollars are unsecured, chopped pieces of paper. Compare to something real.

If Russia uses oil and gas money to subsidise electricity is internal politics and has nothing at all to do with the viability of the countries economic stability.
Cheap electricity doesn’t help the old Babushka who can’t afford to buy food to cook using that

Russia is around 140 million (minus those who left and those who went to Ukraine and became cargo 200).
Russia is expansionist and has been expansionistic for at 500 years.
We need to think about Russia as a potential aggressor (and it is not only Putin, Dugin is involved as are many many others). Russia thinks about neighbouring countries as potential additions to the empire. Just listen to Putins own words about restoring Russias maximum borders.
