So we see many videos of ukrainian troops in combat. They often if not always have colored helmet bands or arm bands often in blue, but I have no idea if that is always. So how should/could we model these helmet bands or arm bands on figures that do not have them. I can see just painting them on the helmets or putting a strip like a rifle sling around the helmet, but the arm bands, how would you all recommend that we do that. Thanks for any and all ideas.
Easiest thing would probably be Tamiya tape. It tends to hold paint fairly well too.
I like that idea for the helmet band, but for arm bands it would seem too wide. thread would be too narrow. I’m still thinking about this. And I’m sure it is not standardized.
Use the 6mm tape and cut it down into smaller strips- I do this (only doubled up for a bit of extra thickness) for 1/35 weapon slings.

It is dependent on location and time. As I recall they have used yellow and also another color I think. It is used to tell friend from foe as uniforms can be similar between both countries.
Tamiya tape does seem like method to replicate.

The colors used are yellow, blue, green. Change periodically as a color of quick indication.
