Ukranian People's Republic diorama

As soon as I bought this Austin I already knew who I would give it to. But I didn’t want to give away the finished model, so I decided to make a small diorama. I left the possibility of removing the body to inspect the interior. I also made figures of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, which I converted from the Auto-Hungarian Infantry from ICM with minimal changes.

I have a dedicated playlist for this project (Ukrainian + English subs)

Outstanding!

I really like the creative use of the cap as the display base!

A brilliant piece with a very unique base! You’ve got some wonderful colors in this- from that faded, rusty green on the armored car to the blue of the infantry uniform- and then the yellow and blue of the Ukrainian insignia- very eye catching.

Maybe add some bits of broken fence on the ground where the vehicle is crashing through. Nicely painted, etc. but groundwork looks a little too neat - like a golf course!

Lovely work Serhii! That engine is beautifully done and the use of the cap as a base is excellent!

I made a broken fence, but after a few hours of trying it on I still didn’t like it. Plus I had been working on this project for so long that it had become my dementor, sucking all my energy out of me) so I decided to make a groundwork minimalistic

Thank you. The person I gave it to really liked it too)

It was an unexpected but successful idea that I immediately latched onto)

It’s much easier to screw-up an intact fence than it is to screw-up a broken fence! Did you try using real wood and just breaking it?

Yep, but I couldn’t find an interesting location of the fragments of the fence so that it would not create an overwhelming and messy picture since there is not so much space in front of Austin. Anyway this diorama is already donated to a friend so I can’t add anything anymore) Next time I’ll pay more attention to such details. After all, this is only my second diorama.
