US 75mm M8 Howitzer Motor Carriage | Armorama™

Classy Hobby has become keen on 1/16th scale releases and what I like about them is that they consider subjects that don't require a mortgage or home extension to house it so take a look at this US 75mm M8 Howitzer Motor Carriage release.

Awesome and beautiful kit. Wish we’d see a new one in 1\35.

I agree Tamiya made one, but it has its issues and a more updates kit in /35 would be much welcomed.

The ancient Tamiya M8 has SERIOUS issues, and is an “extinct” kit. Nobody makes any PE, resin, or 3D corrections for it anymore. An all new tooled kit is needed. Badly.

Almost all their Stuart based kits are ancient (except for their newly tooled M3A1). Tamiya definitely needs to update their offerings.

I’m hoping MiniArt will do the work to modify their Stuart line to give us a decent M8 or that Gecko will shrink this one down to 1/35th (I know Matt Toms won’t like that, but it may be the only way to get a decent M8).

As Tamiya released the M8 in 48th scale one can hope for a 35th version too.

And guess AFV Club won’t get around to releasing their long promised M8 anytime soon…

Hi guy’s,
this kit is by Classy Hobbies, not Gecko (unless they are a subsidiary that I’m not aware of?)

You are right Bill, I would be overjoyed and furious at the same time.

Hey Matt and welcome to Armorama! You are correct, it’s from Classy Hobby, which has nothing to do with Gecko. I have edited the post for accuracy. Have fun here, it’s the best armor modeling site on the web!

Hi guys,
Easy mistake.
I built CH’s M5 which form the basis of the lower hull on this kit, so I will be watching with interest as you build it.

You all should try the SSModel 3D printed one. It’s a very nice kit, has some minor issues, but a complete interior (minus the engine).

Check some pics. I strongly recommend it.

Regards.

Nicely done. The detailed interior is always a plus.

Here’s my Tamiya M8 HMC.
