US Army 'Forest Green'

Preferring enamels to acrylics, I am looking for a reasonable match for the US Army’s ‘Forest Green FS34079’, which I need for my 1/72-scale M60A3. Evidently, Humbrol 116 is a good choice, but it appears that this is currently out of production. Can anyone suggest alternatives, preferably Humbrol or Revell enamels?
Thank,
Paul

Hello!
It’s no enamel, but I’d suggest you try Hataka Orange C021 Medium Green - it’s great stuff. Airbrushes great (with their thinner), has excellent adhesion and dries fast and very hard. I think you’ll like it.
Good luck with your builds and have a nice day

Paul, Humbrol 116 would be way off I feel; try their 150 - Forest Green - still available. Should be fine even in 1/72.

'Happy of course to defer to our US cousins though, who may well be Forest Green Ninjas!

My only advice would be useless now - buy up all the Testors Model Master paints you need before it disappears, as I did. However, some still show up for sale online.

I will give it a go with an app.

Humbrol
116

150

If you want a single color 75 is the “closest”.

If can/want to mix 75 and 243.

Revell
Single 66

Mixed 66 and 46

Oh no, Humbrol 150 looks nothing like the 34079 compared to 116. Certainly like nothing on any of the MERDC painted vehicles I was on or around. 150 is much closer to a stained and darkened version of Light Green 34151
Is that true that 116 has been discontinued? It’s my favorite enamel version of the color.

Whats up with that? My local Hobby Shop still carries it. I use mostly all Testors products.
I guess I’ll have to stockup. Thanks for the heads up.

Here’s a discussion from 2020, which seems like about the time I started hoarding, although it may hve been sooner. Some small shops still carry the odd bottle here and there.

OK - I may have confused myself with my use of it as a component “green” for my MASSTER models - whereby Humbrol 150 was deemed a success.

Looks like Paul will be mixing!

Thanks to you all for helpful responses.
My other question relates to the securing of spare track links on the M60A1/A3.
How were these actually supported from the turret-mounted side rails?

Tamiya XF 81 Dark Green 2 (RAF) is a pretty good match to 34079 I will be using it for the interior of an m125

The are bolted on with the center guides.

I want to say that Humbrol 150 is the green used in the MASSTER scheme.

Two shades of Forest Green.

Those vehicles are all in CARC/NATO Green FS 34094, not Forest Green FS 34079. Forest Green was phased out with the MERDC colors.
