Hi guys. This time something lighter than Abrams. M1278A1, with MCTAGS turret, using by the United States Marine Corps. Base kit it’s of course RFM, and the MCTAGS turret comes from Trumpeter’s MK23 MTVR . Ok, some photos now…
Interior first
Looks good, it is an interesting vehicle
Do you work from photos of a specific vehicle, or just build a “generic” vehicle?
Well. I have a particular photo of the vehicle i want to build, but, i might have some issues with the bonnet side numbers, so it might be a sci-fi build. Here is the vehicle i want to build
I’ve also used some interior photos
Looking good.
Wow, I didn’t know that the interior of the JLTV was that complex with the multifunction displays. I would assume that the displays can control aerial and ground drones, correct, or does that require a separate laptop, tablet, or controller? @HeavyArty
No clue. Never been on nor around the system. I would assume that each drone system would have its own dedicate controller though.
Thanks, Gino.
The one on the left is the Driver Smart Display Unit that gives information on the suspension, power distribution, and other functions, i.e fluid levels, etc.
The one on the right is the Commander’s Smart Display Unit. With it the commander can monitor and assess all aspects of a particular mission to include waypoints, estimated time to next waypoint, postion, and any other functions associated with FBCB2.
Similarly, the one in the rear performs the same functions. In SF, we often like to have the VC in the rear seat.
All weapons system that we used had controllers separate from any vehicle controls. Sucks if you have to unass the vehicle and your control unit is hard wired into it.
If you’re able to spot the joystick it controls the mirrors.
Thanks, Rob! @18bravo
Hello. Would any of the followers be able to answer the question whether the monitor behind the driver’s back is also present in USMC vehicles?
The US Army and th USMC both use the same BFT systems - it wold stand to reason that the same monitors would be used. I have not beenback to Legeune for a few years but I’ve not seen a JLTV without it.
Phew. This means that I didn’t make a mistake and a few hours of fun were not wasted . Thanks for the replay.
Dude, as nice as that looks it would not have been a waste of time in any case.
The interior looks fantastic.
Cheers,
Ralph
No more torturing the interior. Just a dry brush and the cabin will be ready.
