USS Constitution - Revisiting our hobby

Hello,

This is my 1st post and am excited about info gathering and the education ya’ll provide.

I began modeling as a very young kid and continued until I left home in '72.

I retired at 70 and picked our hobby back up. I began with finishing Revell’s 1/96 USS Constitution. When I left home, it wasn’t finished. My Mom carted it around for the next 50 years. Sh3 passed and I brought it home. And decided to finish it in her honor. Ebay had a circa '70s kit and now it is done.

Getman tanks and WW1 german biplanes are my go to.

Thank you all for welcoming me in.

Sweet job on that classic kit! I like the battle damage on the sails… or was it moths?

Excellent first post. Thanks for sharing the photos of your work and the story behind it.

Magnificent! Your mom would be impressed. The sails look right out of a movie.

Welcome aboard!

Beautiful job on your USS Constitution. Very well done.

Avast me hearties, we have a new star on deck – beautiful job & nicely photo’d too.

Welcome – I couldn’t help noticing The Modeller’s Aid there, I bet that started full in the morning when you were trying to finish the rigging…

Welcome to the group. Excellent job on your build. Your mom would be proud.

Welcome to the forums and lovely intro build :+1:

Outstanding work 195344! I’m assuming that this is the vintage 1/96 scale Constitution kit. I love the background story and how you made it to honor your Mom. I hope to see more of your builds especially the ships.
