V&K has a preorder offer for the TOG I (A12 turret)
Similar, but certainly not the same tank. I have often wondered how they built this mock-up. What kind of a chassis was used? Wheels underneath where they could not be seen? It always looked like the tracks were moving too fast to account for the actual speed of the “tank”.
The tank in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) was not a real historical tank, but a fully functional, custom-built, full-scale prop designed for the movie. It was specially engineered for the film to appear as an “experimental” World War I-era tank.

Key Details About the Tank:
Design Inspiration: It was loosely modeled after the British Mark VIII tank but featured an added top turret and design elements that did not exist on WWI-era tanks.
Construction: Special effects artist George Gibbs created the 25-ton, fully functional prop over four months. It was built using parts of a heavy excavator, including its 6.3-ton tracks
.
Engine & Mechanics: It was powered by two Range Rover V8 petrol engines.
Filming: The tank was fully functional and used during filming in Almeria, Spain.
Prop Survival: The actual, full-scale prop was used at Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney’s Hollywood Studios) for many years. It was later restored and placed at the exit of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.
Model Usage: A smaller, 1.83-meter long remote-control replica was used for long-range shots and the cliff-driving scene.

Therefore, while the tank was a functioning, heavy-steel vehicle built for the movie rather than CGI, it is not a historical armored vehicle
THANK YOU! That’s great info and I greatly appreciate it. I had wondered about the movie tank ever since the film was released, Mystery solved!
