The Renault draisine was used at Mallorca island, on the delightful railway linking Palma, the capital, with the nice town of Sóller. Fortunately it still survives in the workshops and still runs from time to time awaiting complete restoration.

This Zis-5 was used for a long time in Teruel, Spain, in the railway linking the Andorra coal mines feeding the power station at Escatrón. These trucks arrived as Soviet aid during the SCW and the many survivors enjoyed a quite long career in civilian use. This one is still alive but was saddly restored back as a common truck, so now erased of the most interesting bits of its working life :frowning:

Tres Hermanos Communistas,

The cyrillic I (capital i) looks like the letter H in the Latin alphabet

Yes, that’s how it was known here. No doubt “created” in the republican side during the SCW, but curious that under the francoist rule the name survived and was commonly used.

This is NOT a rail inspection vehicle but it might be the simplest thing used for riding the rails

That FIAT/SIMCA is adorable!
They could have widened the fenders though …

It was used by the Dutch Railways (Nederlandse Spoorwegen or NS) in 1947. Some say it could be a Simca 5 rather than a Fiat because of the missing chrome in the centre of the grille.
