Vehicle Registration Number for Humber Pig

I am currently tackling a 3D printed model of a Humber Pig (circa 1970, Northern Ireland).
The model does not include VRN decals, so I need to make my own. Am I correct in thinking that
British military vehicles at this time carried registration numbers as 2 digits, 2 letters, 2 digits?
In the photos that I have seen of the Humber Pig, the two letters are always ‘BK’. Would there have
been any other letter combinations?

Thanks,

Paul

Not that I have seen , the numbers and letters would have been given, when the contract order for them went in to the supplier,
the cab for the hornet was a different order .

It’s best to interpret is to read warpaint vol 1, By Dick Taylor, mushroom model publications, page 73 (the 1949 vehicle registration mark system) just to add more to the confusion.

Frank,

Thanks for your response. As I thought, the registration plates on Humber Pigs were almost exclusively 2 digits, BK, 2 digits.

RUC issued Pigs would of had their own system for VRNs …

The RUC vehicles had NI registrations which are three letters and then four numbers.

RUC pigs were withdrawn in 1970 and re-issued mid or late 70s.

Yeah I know. I was just referring to the VRNs for Pigs in general.
