Vespid Models are to release two versions of the ubiquitous Sd.Kfz 251 Ausf D in 1/35 scale.
I have never build a Vespid kit before. Are they original molds or reboxes of some other manufacturer? It seems they are original molds.
On the other hand, I’ve built a number of variations of Sd.Kfz. 10/250/251.
How does Vespid rank compared to others, especially Dragon?
Thanks
It looks like Vespid and Snowman Models are collaborating on these. I have the Snowman Sd.Kfz. 251/1 and the box art and photos are exactly the same for both kits. I’m looking forward to getting the Stuka zu Fuss. Also announced by both companies. Vespid is mainly a manufacturer of 1/72 kits. Every review I’ve seen of a 1/72 Vespid kit has been positive. I’m sure they can do great things with 1/35. I hope Vespid has a better distribution network than Snowman models.
I just ordered the Snowman Stuka zu Fuss on Ebay for $46.00 plus $10.00 shipping from China. The quality of the kits is comparable to, and my opinion, sometimes better than Dragon kits.
Thanks for the positive news on the kits. Now I just have to find out where I can get one.
As I said, this is the Snowman kt. It’s the exact same kit as the Vespid kit. It is readily available on Ebay. I just ordered the Snowman Stuka zu Fuss kit on ebay.
www.squadron.com now has both versions of the Snowman (251/1 and Stuka zu Fuss) 1/35 Snowman Stuka zu Fuss Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.D German Haltrack Plastic Model Kit - Squadron.com available. I recently got the Vespid version of the Stuka zu Fuss and Vespid and Snowman kits are identical.
