Vietnam M113 Crew and Rifleman | Armorama™

They might have excellent customer service, but their figures do not look very good. Some of the weapons are not even close to anything used during that time period and just look made up. The uniforms lack details and the equipment has a lot to be desired. My opinion is that if a manufacturer is going to be producing figures that are supposed to represent a particular nation’s military during any particular conflict, they should at least take the time to do some research and study period photos and at least try to get some of the details right.

It is nice that they tried to replicate the lightweight rucksack a bit, but what the hell kind of weapon is that supposed to be? It kind of looks like a cross between a M249 SAW and a M60E3.

Same thing with this guy’s weapon. Also, there is a lack of detail on the trouser pockets and the dude is holding the barrel of the weapon instead of using the handguard. He would burn his hands for sure. The person that designed this figure obviously never handled real firearms or they would have caught that right away.

And more of the same…

In my previous replies I spoke of the ammo pouches on the H3 figures not being full and their being some nuances that were a bit off, but the figures were still highly detailed and the uniforms and equipment were what US Forces actually had in the inventory. And those little nuances are fixed easily if one is aware of what they are. There are other companies using 3d modeling programs who may not be able to recreate the details as well as those that are rendered by a 3D Scan, but they at least make the attempt at trying to get the details right and just have to tweek sizes of items and gain more experience with the program to create better figures, poses, and folds/wrinkles in the clothing. These three examples of Speira figures are not impressive at all. Perhaps in the smaller scales 1/72 or smaller they might be workable for some people, but in the larger scales that they say they can make the figures into they lack a lot. Perhaps their figures from other time periods may be better, but they missed the mark with these.
