Can B “statues” be made into a 1970s Era 11ACR?

Great to see all of the options and accessories especially the extended bustle rack and sponson armor.

The new tool Tamiya kit is pretty nice, but this looks nicer.

Well RFM beat me to it, the model with the twin .50’s and twin .30’s, missing wake boards, Armored Cav bustle rack, rear deck can rack were all the mods I wanted to make to my eventual build of the 'Nam Sheridan, don’t know whether to be happy or a little miffed about this, well heck any Sheridan is a good Sheridan far as I’m concerned, hell yeah bring it on!

Definitely getting this! Very nice. Looks like RFM may be planning a full interior version later.
I’ll probably also use the add-on accessories as templates to make 3D print versions of them for some builders who choose to “soup up” the newer Tamiya kit.

i would imagine the Tamiya version to be considerably cheaper as well, with added benefit of having some figures in the box as well.

A little cheaper, but not all that much, at least in the U.S. Looking at Scalehobbyist, they sell the Tamiya kit for $48 (MAP is about $53), while the RFM M551A1 is a little over $54. Not that much considering the different parts count, plus included PE in the RFM kit. Of course, these are current prices. Who knows what things will be after tariffs hit.

fixed a typo; should say what I intend to to say

Guys, I forget, is the Tamiya M551 new tool? If not, even though it is probably the second or third armor kit I ever build and therefore I love it more than life itself, I’ll spend the extra bucks for the Rye Field model.

No, its a new kit. RFM doesnt repop tamiya kits.

There are two Tamiya M551 kits. One from the 1970’s and a new tool from 2019.

Looks like a nice kit. I was about to build the old kit from Academy but I couldn’t help myself and placed an order, love those twin .50’s.
