Anyone tried those?

Just got a bottle of the mahogany one to test it and I can say is very good for an acrylic primer. It is very smooth, I can’t tell a difference between Mr.Surfacer 1500 and this one. Sprays nicely with the 0.45 nozzle on my Evolution 2024 and around 20-30psi. Dries fast, but the important thing is to clean the surface from grease and leave it to fully cure at least several hours. I tried scratching it and no lifting issues also with the Tamiya tape. Big plus is almost no smell, for those who can’t stand solvents.

Call me silly, but isn’t it the goal of all primer to be no-peel?

I guess so, just want to switch to acrylic primer from the surfacer and heard good things about the VMS one, doesn’t hurt to try it :slightly_smiling_face:. I was sceptical, but quite like it.

Yes! But Vallejo primers peel up if you breathe on them, so a new no-peel acrylic primer is a good thing.

True, I had Vallejo grey primer and those peel like burned skin in the summer. VMS is very good, honestly, I tried scratching hard with my fingernail after it cures and it doesn’t peel.

I have not tried VMS, but recently had the chance to test Kaleido (part of Gaahleri airbrushes) and found it very good:

I am currently working on the varnishes review.

I heard good things about them too, but they don’t have mahogany and for me that color is universal-diorama, aircraft, tanks, figures also. Though I will get their black primer as soon as I finish the GSW matt black one.
