Very nice! The crew and the small details add a lot of interest.

Thanks Al. Might add a mechanic welding the frame on at the bow at some point, to justify the idle crew.
Hi Alan, I know it’s been a while since you posted this topic and may I say a lovely build. I have just completed the same kit and was wondering where you got the figures from. I’ve searched everywhere I can think of without success. Any help would be appreciated.
Man! I lost track of this one somehow, what a gorgeous little War Craft, very bright and colorful, quite an attractive model!

HI! What a beauty and an interesting topic! Nicley done Alan!! I am looking into converting a 1/72 Vosper kit into this version, but it comes with 21-inch torpedo and tubes. I think I read somewhere that used the 18-inch but cannot find the source now and anywhere else. Does anyone happen to know?
Yes, they were 18" tubes. Several good books on the raid. One that specifically mentions the 18" tubes and the torpedoes carried is Storming St. Nazaire by James Dorrian. I think there is an Osprey book on the raid as well.
Hi, the figures are a mixture of Wee Friends, U Models and I think one came From Accurate Armour. The seated guys playing cards were conversions from a set of German gunners or tankers. Can’t quite remember now, Hope that helps.
Thanks for the comments. Enjoy your build.
Thank you!!
Many thanks, apologies for the belated repoy.
MAny thanks
Hi Alan, just returning after a long hiatus, but just about done with my conversion. Just double checking of the paint colors, did you use a source or go by eye? I seem to come up with more gray tones than blue tones so not really sure if it’s just the way the images come out
Hi, If I recall the camo scheme is detailed in the kit. It is also referenced in Vosper MTBs No 13 suqadron/signal publications where it shows a duller grey scheme so go with what you feel best I wouold suggest. Not an expert I’m afraid. When it’s eweathered in a bit more it will dull down.
