I’ve sat in the back of one of these twice. In handcuffs. Probably gotta get one.
I sat in the driver’s seat of one for many years.
A civilian one; not an ambulance.
Polizeibus?
I got laid in the back of one, many times!
It would be an even odder story if it wasn’t, but yes.
I think that’s more information than we need(!)
In the medic version?!
That was afterwards…for the STD treatments!
Uuurgh!
Artist who did that second image made the bus too wide.
It’s chopped.
It’s an AI image. There are many other issues that give it away, like the small windows on either side of the windshield; they don’t exist on the real thing. Body panel by the right rear wheel also is bent at an odd angle.
This seems like a popular subject-maybe a group build?
Of the same kit, or VW buses in general? I have all the Hasegawa and Revell bus kits.
VW Busses & VW Beetles before 1975 or whatever is appropriate for the older bidy styles
I realize it’s AI, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it appears chopped. What’s weird that it looks like the extra window in front is only on one side. Something’s off about it.
The right headlight looks saggy, there is an extra turn signal on the right side, the big VW in the middle is whackadoodle, the roof rack is assymetrical at best, the bumper is too - LOT of weird things here.
I have Splits, Bays, and Vanagons so I am covered from 1962-2002 but the body style in the kit will only get you from late 1967 to 1971. Prior to 1967 they are Splits and after 1971 the rear panel changes along with parts of the front clip and the engine is swapped from the doghouse to the pancake style. Similar yet visibly different.
If you’ve watched any AI stuff on YouTube or elsewhere, it seems a lot of the people generating the imagery don’t check their output to see if the output was worth uploading.
The kind of stuff a loving mom would put on the fridge.
