Warrior tracked rapier concept vehicle

Academy warrior, with Scorpion miniature models warrior 2 top, which is an exclant kit (this is seconds piece not fit for sale) with dragon badger models conversion, ( do not buy, it’s bad 3d printing),

Is there any way you can smooth that out?
I was going to get the AVRE conversion but was warned off due to the quality of the printing!

There is a 2part clear resin to put over, will show a picture later when home again. Family members bought it a birthday thinking something different for me to do. Not knowing the issue.

Frank, please post about the 2-part resin, I have a similar issue to address…

Hi,
that is not only the quality of printing. I have an AVRE under scratch building at the moment so I investigated the details very closely. Furthermore, I do have own detail pictures of an in service vehicle. There are lots of details that are not or only rude designed in that kit. Undoubtly it looks like an AVRE from far, as long as you do not have too much expectations to details.

For scratchbuilding an AVRE, you would need a lot of Evergreen profiles, and there was a scale drawing by Tim Neate in the late 80s. This one helps very much. I guess you better build one scratch yourself befor you go for that conversion.Mine was started 32 years ago with Plastruct profiles and Tims drawings and rested unfinished on the Shelf for decades until now and will be finished within the next weeks. Today I would use Evergreen instead which was not available at start.

I also was looking for their Giant Viper trailer. Apart from the bad printing, a lot of parts look way off dimensions. So, there are a lot of questionmarks to their products. But consider, what would you expect for their prices which are quite low for such big printings? Detailed printing would cost way much more than their kits.

There is a video on how it’s used on their website.

Thanks for your reply, but where did you get it from?

I’ve found Bentleys, or unavailable on Ebay or Amazon…

Direct from them bentleys, about a year ago, one of the builders from FB modern British armour site.

Hi Frank
Nice work. Any thought about adding a 50 Cal outboard of the missile boxes? I saw that done on a Tacked Rapier at Farnborough in 86.

Mal

No Mal,
bad enough correcting this one, to some resemblance of a proper vehicle, have you seen his site and crap prints.

Hi Frank
No haven’t seen the site. But did find the photo’s I took

That would have caused a lot of problems aiming it,
pity the registration plate has no match for history.

Hi Frank
Does that mean it was a dummy plate, or just not recorded?
Thought the installation looked rather crude, but interesting idea.

Mal

Dummy plate, yep. Just a sales idea or subdefuse for russians.

Not done any work in a while, update on warrior/ rapier,
still a lot of what ifs to sort with it.

forgot to add had a friend make some proper rapier missiles.
