What Brand

Getting back into building AFV models again. Was building 1/35 WW2 AFV’s mostly from DML. Am wondering who offers the best bang for your buck kits now. Thanks for help!

Please define “Bang for your buck.”
Highest part count?
Most accurate?
Easiest to assemble? (usually associated with a low part count)
PE, resin, and 3D printed parts included?
Lots of spare parts left over for future conversions?

You’ll get varied answers depending upon what it it you’re after.

That said, DML doesn’t exactly rank high these days compared to other brands.

I’m thinking detail, maybe workable tracks and metal barrel

A good compromise on the above list would be Takom or anything new from Tamiya. Both offer reasonable parts count and trouble free assembly, especially Tamiya. Takom has somewhat better detail, more small parts, and usually more PE. Both in my opinion offer good value for what you pay. Your mileage may vary.

Every company has great kits, good kits, and horrible kits. It is better to ask which kit of X subject is the best. It is even better to qualify what you consider as best, ie. easiest to build, highest detailed, looks like X when done, etc. This will most likely give you the most accurate answer to what you are looking for. Generalizing about a company is not the best way to find what you are after.
