Best of luck with your entries Matthew!
I’ve been a little out of it lately. I had a wisdom tooth extraction that took forever to heal-up.
Today was my first time back at the bench in a while, so I cobbled-together the basic structure of a CONEX Box — kind of a strange assembly process — NOT what I would call easy. After some effort, I finally got it to hold together!
Somehow, I don’t feel any wiser.

It’s nice and sunny, so I took the drill rig out for some pictures:
This oddball project has turned into a lot of fun. I haven’t done any heavy weathering in a while, so this was a good chance to do some! I can see a few areas that need some touch up - but, we’ll see if that happens
Now, back to the truck that will be hauling this -
Cheers and happy model building,
Nick
Good luck Matt, looks like a great group of entries !
Matt, looks like a fantastic line up of models to take to the show! A+++
Camo applied , I’m not the greatest at camouflage painting, it looks okay. But not the greatest, canopy looks better. I’ve gotten pretty good with that part.
Matt,
The British and 2nd German tank appear to have track issues.
The British tank is missing a sprocket tooth (maybe not the end of the world) but the track appears away from the sprocket.
2nd German tank has some track seating issues on the sprocket. The track looks disconnected after the 2nd outside road wheel. To me it looks track is sucking up in the rear after the road wheel. If it’s the kits permanent base, I would remove the grass under the track as it appears to be riding on top.
Best of luck at Nats.
Have fun and Halz und Beinbruch with your models on the show
Wow! In the photos it looks like the real deal, Nick. Great work!
Wow, ya’ll were busy yesterday, all this great work!
Where is the AMPS thing @SSGToms ? Very cool line up….
@Stickframe you continue to amaze me with your builds and photography.
Glad to hear your doing better @justsendit . We’ve missed you round here.
@Dagger1959 looks good to me.
Meanwhile in Northern Virginia, need to do some sanding, touching up and screwing around with the search light cable and I think I’m ready to shoot me some AK RC Gelbolive (late)
Ryan. The ‘British Tank’ is a Canadian Ram Tank.
The German one is a VK3601(H). I think it is an RFM kit and the Indy tracks have separated in the lower run. Should not be too hard to re-join if it is not secured down.
Good luck in the comp Matt.
@Karl187 @Seanmcandrews @Armor_Buff @TeeAge @petbat Thank you sincerely guys for the well wishes. It’s nice to have support. I’m sure I’ll come home with something, but to me it’s really not about the contest, it’s about the show and all the guys I only get to see once a year.
@Tank_1812 Ryan, you’re right again. I’m going to have to re-do that track and see what I can do about the sprocket. I have two days. I may not sleep tonight. Thanks for the keen eye and the tips.
@Arch-Stanton The show is in South Bend, Indiana this year. It’s a haul but it’s do-able in one stretch.
It looks like it’ll be another good one, wish I could make it this time.
Thank you Sir. I appreciate it.
Have a nice trip and good luck!
And when you come back, tell us about how you make bases for your models?
Won’t have it been His/Her majesty’s tank so British wouldn’t have been a bad guess.
So I’m getting ready to apply the decals. Should I clear gloss coat it before or after the decals. I’ve heard both sides. But want to know what your experience is.
If you can rotate the sprocket where the missing tooth is in the track bend and reset the tracks I think that’s the best that can be done in short notice and not make a mess of everything.
You’re right again! I’m giving it a go.
