The MAZ is taking shape. This shows the kit wheels, which I won’t be using. The tractor chassis is finished but the cab structure is just held temporarily in place at the moment. More details to add yet.

Managed to get the ramps on and working.

This shot also shows how the resin wheels look

I’ll be concentrating on the cab areas next.

I’m getting a liking for these monsters and I can see myself building another. Perhaps an M911 or M1070 HET one day. I can dream!

I remembered the name Shot Kal and the kit is a Armor Club kit.

Yep the Shot Kal is the one I am wanting to get. But life changes has forced me to put it off for awhile Hopefully Maybe sometime next year will find me being able to purchase and build one. But I also have a Rye Field Canadian Leopard Tank that’s still waiting to be built.

That is building up great Terry … certainly takes up some bench space. I am thinking about making a start on my Scammell Commander

Nice. How much weight did you hav e to add?

It says 7 Grams on instructions , did 11, held in with PVA.

Think 7 probably would have done.

11 grams of powder? Are you crazy?

Oh it said, grains, not grams. My bad…

Paint is done, except for some touch-up work.

Mike

p.s. The olive green over spray has already been taken care of. I need better lighting.

Woot!

Slapped my first Sherman ever together. It’s like build #227 or something so long over due.

Hope to base coat in black or dark gray tomorrow.

Thanks John. A long way to go yet still with much minutae to add, then the big paint and weathering. Might also start on its load which at the moment is likely to be the Magic Factory Ukrainian Bradley, although I do have a Trumpeter Ukrainian T-84 in the stash.

Some progress on the Tamiya SU-76M.

I had to reposition the Submachinegun ammo racks. I used the wrong slots to glue them to the armor plates that blocked them from fitting to the hull (racks were too low). I used glue to loosen them then pried them off. Also painted the drums in the racks.

Also some work on the gun.

Waiting on additional paint for Sherman to arrive so started an ICM T-34/76 early 1943. Cleaned 90% of the parts during debate then three piled the kit parts into lower hull, upper hull and turret stacks. Soft plastic parts, well designed for easy clean up.

While one has to pay attention as some suspension parts can be fitted the wrong way because key pins are the same size but otherwise very user friendly kit.

Wrapped 28 of 62 steps in ~5 hours including clean up.

Added moderate texture to various armor plates with thinned Tamiya Basic putty with an old paint brush. Rolled armor plate on WW2 production T-34’s had some texture.

I was quite surprised how quickly the ICM kit builds.
