Great 2S1 Angel. Looks nice with that PE. What finish you going for ? I take it Bulgaria used these & 2S3’s ?
Looks excellent Tony! What tracks did you get for it?
Thanks, they’re from an ebay company called RS Models, just lay them out on the jig and wire them like Fruils,I thinks some kind of pins would look better, but they beat the 9 piece links from the kit.
Thanks John!
AMOF Bulgaria did not only field the 2S1, but also produced it under license(Tcherven Briag plant).
In WP times there were 500+ Gvozdika’s in Bulgarian People’s Army inventory. So it will be a Bulgarian one for sure.
I like this picture very much:
2S3 Akatsiya is a different story.
18 vehicles were delivered in the 1980’s, but with the downfall of the Warsaw Pact and the subsequent reduction of army units, staff and equipment, the major part were sold to African countries.
Nowadays there are only 2 Akatsiya’s I’m aware of
Cheers,
Angel
Oh yes! 9 parts per link is just insane. Impossible. They should get a “Worst Engineering Decision 2025” award for those tracks. I binned them with great happiness. I bought Jacque Duquette’s excellent 3D printed L&L tracks for mine.
How did you make the anti-slip?
I’m using this.
But here’s the catch; the anti slip comes in two bottles; one is the glue and the other is the fine sand aggregate. The glue bottle broke during shipment, so I use Tamiya flat clear coat as a bonding agent; once it dries; I hit it with Mr. Hobby Mahogany primer to make sure everything sets it.
This is how everything looks
Got it, thank you, I’ll use that on my Merkava m2D from border.
Don’t sell yourself short Denimo, I think you do a pretty darn good job on your models from what I’ve seen

I’ve gotten side tracked annealing 308 Palma brass and other such like things in preparation for Range 4 on Saturday. The season has begun…
Up early this morning to watch free practice and qualifying for the World Endurance Championship race - the 1812KM of Qatar.
The new Aston Martin 007 Hyper Car is on the track…
Race is tomorrow morning @ 0530 EST here in the US
Edited to add-
While the cars were going round and round, I added the headlamps and the vision block stickers to the M113 G3 GE.
I used my ancient suction cup tool that I’ve had forever to add the lights along with Tamiya X22 gloss clear.
The stickers are supposed to be for the LAV family. There’s lots of them on these sheets with lots of uses. I’ll fix the headlight assembly gaurd support with some black SB later.
In some operational pictures of later M1068s, the IR headlamps have been completely removed, much the same as the IDF did on all their M113 variants some time ago.

You know there is this thing called a PVR, so you don’t have to get up at 4am!
Yes please, I’ll take one Aston Martin. I really like the 007 livery.
BTW your 113’s look great.
I’m pretty much done with the M113 G3 GE. Gotta add a recovery cable, but that’s it.
The M1068 is another story- it needs a recovery cable also, and a bunch of markings. Because I’m not smart enough or skilled enough, I’m having a local decal maker gin up some markings for this. We’ll see how it goes.
At any rate, my 2024-25 modeling season is at an end. It’s been a lot of fun but now it’s time for me to concentrate on my other thing. I’ll still check in on this thread to see what ya’ll are up to. Model on dudes!
Phenomenal finish Al! These are beautiful. Happy shooting and see you later.
Al, very sweet builds and fantastic finish.
Have fun on the firing range and talk to you soon.
