What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

Ewe, that looks bad. Unfortunately, I think it is about right for the time. I have the Real Model M969 Fuel Trailer that I got really cheap and it looks about the same quality. It is going to be a bitch to clean up and make look good.

The HL 3D printed M127 is a thousand times better. Good luck.

I appreciate your situation with that tanker kit Gino, it really was an unpleasant experience looking through the RM pieces, that said the trailer deck and sidewalls looked reasonable. Pity about the rest of it!

I sold alot of RM stuff a couple years back - wont say who to. A move that with hindsight was a good one……

Yes, I’m sure the HL trailer will work out, although I’m wondering if;

The M9? Pod (airportable, personnel/cargo by ICM) would have fitted with the sidewalls around it,

Or, was it loaded on the flatbed and tied down?

Any thought, comments?

I’m not sure of the width of the pod, but it is probably too wide for the sides to be up. It might actually fit better on an M172 lowboy trailer.

Would the M172 pin work with the M365 fifth wheel? Different sizes?

I think it would be good. I believe the M172 has a standard pin since it is usually pulled by a 5-ton tractor.

Based on this and the fact that I really like the M127, I’ve ordered one of each.

Thanks for your help Gino.

Excellent pics Gino. I’ll hook the M172, loaded with the M9 pod, via the M365 to my M125. Then the M127 will eventually hook onto an M800 series tractor using the HL conversion.

Really appreciate your help and advice.

ETA Gotta love the MERDC camo in the first pic.

This has been underway over the last few days. I ran out of material, so decided maybe a good time for a picture:

This will eventually be an office and shop, in 1/35 for a dio I’m working on. This has been pretty interesting and challenging. The overall building is chipboard, with basswood as the internal frame. The storefront area has several layers of material, starting with a thin (1/64") sheet of birch plywood, followed by numerous smaller pieces of strip wood. The upper story windows are laser cut, then as below, bass wood trim. And as you can see, a lot more to go :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Cheers

Nothing much today as had an Atrial Fibrillation event (PITA) around bedtime. Off to the local hospital via an ALS convoy and only released at 0200.

Then, car detailing and yard maintenance contractors arrived early this morning so I’m planning a siesta this afternoon.

Fresh start tomorrow a.m. Researching how different oil drums looked in the ‘60’s compared to the circa 2000 set I got from Miniart.

That would look awesome with an M58 MCLIC on top of it.

Finally glued the right inner wall into the SU-76M.

Glued the ammunition rack and left outer wall to the hull.

Also glued the wheel hubs and levers for the M102.

I moved my paints, pigments, brushes, and other related products into the box the ATOM paints were shipped in, so now they are all together in one place! (I also don’t have to open up my box of tools, bits, and pieces to get to my paints and pigments anymore).
I also found the perfect box for making a wet palette, so I can hopefully get started with painting my Bf-109 this long weekend!

The M58 MICLIC uses a totally different trailer (M200). It is available as a 3D file at Cults3D though.

I have one printed already and plan on building it soon.

Very brief session yesterday due to the previous nighs trip to A+E resulting in a v short night. Finished weathering the fifth wheel on the M365 dolly and did some research on how ‘60’s oil drums differed fom those of today.

All genned up now and plan to build some of the Miniart drums and maybe prime them. Once done I’ll move on later this week to loading these on the M125 and getting the bows on.

The M172 trailer for this rig should be here late next week, but in the meantime I’ve got a few small items to add to the truck’s load.

For the 2/3 Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica I’ve finally decided on Tamiya Insignia White lacquer as the primary color, with a darker grey for accenting.
