Moving on, a tarped extra spare, awaiting tiedown and cinched main tiedowns with lumber blocks to protect the Pod sidewalls.
Worked on my IDF campaign Puma, had a long painting and drybrushing session last night, ready for some pictures ?
The rocket system…
Upper and lower hull..
Tracks…
Mine roller…
Side skirts, sponsons, guns, idlers ans sprockets…
I used AK chipping colour and on some parts a bit of metal colour for the drybrushing.
And I know guns, mortar, running gear and ammo boxes should all be in the same colour as the tank itself, but I happen to like a bit of diversity in colour
Finally made some important progress on the StuG III G:
- I got pieces of paperclips into the heels of the figures so that I can stick them into cork and foam
- I stuffed the inside of the fighting compartment with pieces of foam, into which I can stick the figures (The guy getting out of the commander’s hatch is a little awkward, but I am not skilled enough to modify figures)
- I started positioning extra tracks and stowage. Is that configuration alright for a Stug III G’s stowage?
- I got the tracks fitted to the vehicle.
The figures are ready to be primed, which I will do later this evening.
P.S. Looks like I won’t be able to prime today, My can of Vallejo primer won’t cooperate. It seems to be spraying from around the nozzle, even leaking out onto the side of the can. Has anyone else had such problems with spray paint?
Over the past few days I have been moving some of my models across the contry. Its a small miracle but so far nothing broke, not even ships or helicopters. Some of these models moved multiple times already including this brave trooper - the 1/76 Stuart from Matchbox, which I build as a kit and it moved atleast 5 times since the 90s. The good thing is im the property owner, so I can take my time, otherwise this would be a nightmare with books, uniforms etc.
Got some paint on the driver, still needs hair. Figuring out the trailer brake and electrical hook up.
Another stock version of the Mattel Space 1999 Eagle One just rebuilt. The primary cabin and command module are vintage 1976, with additional 3D printed parts.
Instead of finishing my current project, I started a new one. Not the best idea, but, I wanted to reset, so have begun a new project, by starting to rework a finished project:
I made the 1941 Chevy Canopy Express using the front half of a Chevy pickup, merged with the back half of a Ford Sedan Delivery (and cutting it up more to make the Chevy Canopy Express body), making it a 4-link 4x4 and, well, LS swapping it. I finished this over a year ago.
And now it’s changing - as you can see above. The spare is a 1/35 resin tire/wheel wrapped with a styrene 1/35 tire so that I could match the giant 1/24 tires on the model. Then went through the junkbox looking for storage remnants in any scale:
I’m waiting for a few parts now and a dio will follow -
Cheers
Nick
A number of us have done tha samething.
Good looking build.
Brake hoses in place, being “trained” to achieve the right “hang” between truck and semitrailer. Chain mounted to secure the M365 dolly.
I’m nearly finished printing all the 1/10 scale Blue Thunder parts.
I’ll be modifying the rotor motor and inner mast components to insert a small 3V DC motor to turn the rotors. Needs some trimming to fit the motor flush.
You do amazing scatch work on that, Jack!
While mainly working on the Revell/Pro Modeller Helldiver I did also a little bit on the Ferret and I’m even a bit further already than on these photos. No problems so far …
My entry into the Let’s get hitched campaign is complete. I’ll post some pics next week.
Not much modelbuilding for me lately- we have had 2 weeks with temperatures exceeding 38-39 grad Celsius.
Forecast for yesterday was 42 grad Celsius, so SWMBO decided we should evacuate Sofia(Borovetz resort is an hour drive).
So we are now at 2500 m. above sea level, starring at the highest peak on the Balkan peninsula- Musala(2925.40 m):
Cheers,
Angel
I just recently rediscovered a model which I had primed, but never painted. I was originally going to have my Sdkfz. 251 towing it, but then plans changed, and I never got around to painting it. Perhaps I’ll work on it this summer.
It was a rainy Sunday here today, so a good day to stay at the bench and work on both kits. And I also came a bit further with the little Ferret. The wheels are not glued to the chassis, just added for the photo. They’re not finished yet …
Angel, have a nice time in the mountains! We’re far away from 42°C here in Germany. These days we roughly hit the 20°C mark. Not that I’m complaining. My comfort temperature zone lays between -20° and +30°C, depending where I am …
