That’s from the movie “Hulk”.
Takom includes the markings for this tank in their Chieftain Mk10 kit. It is only identified as “The Zombie Tank”.
In Spielberg’s War Of The Worlds 2005 movie, they used a real M1A1HC Abrams from the 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division :
They were not on a budget ![]()

Speaking of …
I haven’t seen that movie, only short sequences on YouTube.
I get irritated seeing tanks, infantry, artillery and missile weapons line up in a smallish circle or semicircle around the “enemy”.
Where did the directors/producers get their tactical training? Some book about Napoleonic warfare? How about we all line up in nice and tidy formations on either side of this field and then we start firing at each other at 12 o’clock? Nobody moves, that would not be sportsmanlike since it would mess up the opponents aiming.
Similar behaviour when one side makes a circle around an opposing individual and then they all start firing towards the centre of the circle. If there is an even number of shooters evenly distributed around the circle then it could get dangerous for the shooters.
The ‘giveaway’ feature for that view is the wading rail, on the glacis in front of the drivers hatch - specifically a Chieftain only feature. Designed to anchor the wading kit, which I think was only ever used in trials, not in service.

It has nothing to do with budget. The movie may be supported by the US Govt and use actual military equipment and soldiers as extras, etc. if approved by the US Govt on how it portrays the military and Govt in general. A board approves it or not. Another example of full US military approval is “Transformers”. It used all actual active-duty vehicles, soldiers, and was filmed on military bases.
When you dig deeper into it, you will be surprised just how many movies are backed funded by either the Military or Gov to give them favourable air time
not to mention the MRS shroud, the Stillbrew armour, all the hull bins, the headlights and headlights guards, the shape & curve of the bottom of the hull and the tracks … to name few ![]()
FAKE, perhaps an AI-drawn attempt. It’s inside a game, right?
What I meant was they didn’t have to rely on plywood-based stuff or cheap CGI…

Methinks an Alternate Version of the Abrams X
Yep, but for me to see those clearly, I’d need to zoom the view…possibly an age thing
