what are they? 1:72?

It’s a mix. The XF-92 and Dauntless are 1/72, the rest are 1/48.

Two small parcels this time.

And the contents of the Barracuda pilots and gunners sets

Snagged this for $19 on eBay. Didnt pay attention though and the decals are pretty far gone.

Bummer since Yak-3 decals don’t exactly grow on trees! Still a neat plane.

Aero master had a few sheets. Depending on the scheme generic red stars and numbers can be used. Some ideas, little harder to find Begemot decals these days locally. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/3/7/5/260375-75-instructions.pdf

Plus there is a few Eduard kits that getting folks extra might be had.

Very helpful thanks.

I found these at a thrift store, still sealed, for $2.50 each. So I bought them all.

No kits just some reference material.

I’m thinking of getting the Trumpeter Barracuda. With around 40 € not too expensive at my online hobby shop.

Torsten it looks nice in the box however I will say the large cockpit area is lacking some detail including the twin Vickers guns which aren’t in the kit at all!
That’s why I got the Quinta 3D sets for the pilot and gunners positions, I didn’t get the observers/navigators set but may get that before I start on it.

This image gives an indication of the missing defensive armament.

2 of AZ’s ‘What-if’ SR.53 Trainers landed today. I must be mad!

Comes with fictional markings for a Canadian, Saudi and West German aircraft. Tempted to do the Canadian scheme on one. The other will be done in 1980’s RAF low-viz with Sidewinders replacing the Firestreaks.

That’s very cool.

Thanks. It’s an interesting little thing.

Would be nice if they followed up with the larger SR.177, which is what the programme was supposed to lead to. Could do some fun things with those.

I found there was an old vacform many years ago and a limited run resin a few years ago, but nothing else.

So many interesting British designs and almost was aircraft from the 50’s and 60’s. My personal favourite is the Hawker P1121, a mock up was built and the project cancelled while the prototype was half finished. Somehow the 1/2 built prototype survived in storage at Cosford and recently has been uncovered at the Brooklands museum. Brooklands still need to do some clean up before it goes on display and then they plan on preserving it.

Apparently the reason behind it’s cancellation was no one knew what to do with one of the first true multi-mission aircraft designs, think the Saab Gripen / Typhoon / F-35 etc but in the 1950’s.
