You don’t and it’s not been done well in kit form. There’s only Matchbox and Sword (which I don’t recall being great from reviews) in 1/72. Not sure if anyone has done it in 1/48 or bigger?
It’s kind’ve understandable really as it’s not an exciting looking design, but as you say it stuck around for quite a while when others disappeared quickly. I’m looking forward to building them.
Czech Models did a 1/48 in 2004 and the old Squadron store reboxed it a year later. I don’t think it had great reviews.
Yes that rings a bell now. Multi media with resin and etch?
Yep, all that plus limited run plastic fun.
I have the Sword one in the stash and Im NOT looking forward to building it.
I’ve heard that the intakes can be a little tricky. Hard to get right as there are some complex curves there. I expect that to be a problem area on the Matchbox too. And I have a vague recollection that Sword based their kit on a preserved example that had been used by Raytheon to test various missiles. So it has some lumps and bumps not seen on the usual Skyknight that Sword replicated. I might of course be wrong though as I’m going from memory.
I had this set of Finemolds missiles arrive yesterday. And they are gorgeous! I’m a huge fan of the Hasegawa sets, but this new set blows them out of the water!
I like how they have made the sprues bigger around the missiles to protect the delicate fins. Some thought went into that. Looking forward to using these.
Nice little haul. How is the AMX? I’m on the lookout for the single seater myself.
I keep thinking I’m going to start a series of Desert Storm builds so added this. The cluster bombs are for an F-16 kit I already have. This purchase inspired by Mead’s build. Do we have a group build going where this would count?
Oh, and you say you see something underneath the Hornet? What might that be?
The ordnance from it will be useful for my F-15E first night configuration.
Stephen, it looks nice in the box, nice fine panel lines and rivet detail with a slightly different build option for one of the 4 decal options offered. I think the only weak points but it’s more of a issue due to molding limitations in 1/72 are the IP’s and the seats. Harnesses are decals but there is a small pe fret for some fuselage panels (reinforcement plates?).
Oh if doing the box art scheme the rudder ‘marking’ comes as a decal.
Thanks, that doesn’t look half bad. The instrument panel works for me. Bit of colour and it’ll do through the canopy. Might need a little something extra if you do it open though. Strange they didn’t do the seat straps in etch, I mean if they’re already including a small fret why not?
Is it that silly decal that looks like a big knot they always seem to include?
Nice haul . Get the Puddy Truck coming for the Intruder ! I have the kit and it’s on the shelf of Doom . Dry fit dry fit dry fit ! I don’t know if I just got a bad kit or what ?! Sad thing is really like the Intruders .
Arrived today directly from Bohemia ![]()
I couldn’t resist Eduard’s 50 % sweep discount on a few of their kits and pulled the trigger on this Spitfire duo …
… quite a big box … ![]()
… with a full load of happy modelling! ![]()
… and some extra insignias are always useful …
Last year I bought their “Wilder Cat” FM-2 Limited Edition, which has extra US markings for another Wildcat. So I thought I need an Overtree … ![]()
Oh what I would give for a new mold voodoo! The old ones are hard to find for a what I would be willing to pay! Nice scores
That intruder kit is my holy grail kit. I love the intruder and have that one in stash patiently waiting for my skills to improve.
The kinetic F-18 is great
Dude !!!
The seat belt decals are a ‘H’ set for the seat backs and two small ones for the lap belts.

They’re an improvement at least. Looks like a good kit, will have to keep a look out.
Thanks
I found this Voodoo down at the IPMS show in Chattanooga last month. I’m always jealous seeing you guys find kits that I really want but I think are too expensive and yet you find them at shows for pennies on the dollar. The Voodoo and the Six were $12 and $15, so I jumped on them.
The Monogram draftsman-cum-designer-cum-executive who sends me stories about the old days of modeling, I asked him if he was involved in either of these two models. I will be posting his reply soon. Very interesting.
Wow $12 for that kit is a steal. I really want to build a RCAF version of the Vodoo!
