Couple De Havilland Beaver & Otter Floats and the good ol’ Cessna 172 . I have many many hours in these ol’ girls . The sheer roar and vibration of the De Havilland sometimes ya wonder is it gonna fly … ?

Interesting. I’ve never come across one of the Hobbycraft Beavers. Have often wondered if they’re reboxed Airfix or their own tooling and how it compares.

Quint, you lucky man. Beaver on floats is my all time favorite prop aircraft. My instructor was a bush pilot from Alaska and shared many stories flying in the wilderness with his beaver. If I ever win a lotto I am putting down the money and purchasing a 1:1 scale model

Btw, I should have ask this yesterday. Is it possible if you can share photographs of the plastic inside your 3 beavers? TIA

Definitely different to the Airfix. That looks like a nice little kit. Thanks.

Haha, Torsten, so Eduard got you, too, with an offer one can’t refuse…! :joy: :ok_hand:

This kit has been on a 50% off at sprue bros a few times.

I’ve always passed it up. Recently I got interested in anti submarine warfare and coastal defence. I also really wanted a liberator. I saw this come up again, and took a look. When I noticed this scheme

The nose art immediately caught my eye as did the camo pattern. I then noticed it was an RCAF bird. Bonus points as I am from Canada so I had to jump on it

You ran a teen spirit campaign last year. Now maybe it’s time for “I’ve reached my 20s now?”

I’m reminded of Mark Twain’s saying that was something like - when I was 16 my old man was so stupid I couldn’t believe how much he’d learned by the time I turned 25.

Could maybe do a hunter-killer campaign! Subs and those who hunt them

I wanted this one when it was first released but never bought it - this came up on eBay for low $
so I finally got one . The appeal ? The decals for the engine turned finish on the cowling. Strange what pushes your buttons sometimes. I hope the decals are still good.

That’s wonderful, Jacob! We need younger modellers (I’m turning 60 this year …)
Concerning Eduard kits, my advice is - stay weak! Their 109s and Spits are some of the best you can get in 1/48 for a fair price. Ask me how I know …

I’m keeping it going! Just turned 30 myself!

True, but the new Tamyia Gustav isnt bad aswell. We are living in a golden age.

Sure, yes. But Tamiya offers only the G-6, while Eduard has most Gustavs, Friedrichs and Emils in their programm. Plus Tamiya Germany offers the 1/48 G-6 for 50 Euros in their online shop (1/72 costs 27 Euros). For the Spitfire it’s probably the same dilemma. So for me our czech friends are closer …
1:48 Dt. Bf109 G-6 Messerschmitt online kaufen | Tamiya
And Eduard …

Of course, that doesn’t mean, that you couldn’t get these kits cheaper somewhere else.
